A return to the 1970s?

I take it you don't like YSL Opium...
Centre Pompidou IS a product of the seventies. Tour Eiffel was hated by parisians when it was built and it has been the symbol of the city for many years. At least at the time when it was built, Centre Pompidou was demonstrative. Now, that it made its point, it is just part of the landscape. Not all that happened in the seventies was discarded by history.

I can't say that I'm too fond of the 1970s, but I do like some of the more conservative clothing worn during that period. In reality, it's the extreme, bright, flashy "disco" clothing I'm not interested in. Then again, I wouldn't have too much good to say about things going on in current trends for young people today either.

Hate the hairs,the suits,the trousers,the pop culture.
But some things were interesting.
In the classic side of 70s we had a return to 30s-40s silhouette (in late 60s the suits and ties were too much slim and poor).
For exemple, look a this double breasted by Ralph Lauren:

Or a these suits (Ralph Lauren):

For the rest,in my opinion, the 70s are simple trash.
From the film The Great Gatsby (1974), I believe all costumes were done by Ralph Lauren.

Yes RL did do the wardrobe for the 1974 version of The Great Gatsby, but we must remember that the T&A shirts made Daisy cry.
