I think your slippers are fine, as long as you follow that trousers cutting tradition that places the hem / cuffs at or just above the ankles, without much break.

I believe that's an illustration of an unlined calf suede loafer. Not a home slipper but a welted summer shoe.
I remember similar shoes by Saint Crispin RTW. In Amsterdam you may try Sir Max shoe store.
