I didn't see a lot of LL members wearing jacket with patch pockets so was wondering what you guys standing on this point. Personally majority of my jackets (sport coats) have patch pockets.

Dear DF,

if you would be in Bern, you would see me walking around with patch pockets on tweed coats here and then :D

I like patch pockets on the more quiet designs, like herringbones, diamond twill, donegal and houndstooth.

My LL Ultimate blazer is coming with 2 patch pockets-- as did the jacket in the cashmere herringbone. Just a little relaxed and off-duty, not too casual.

I have nothing against them. A RTW blazer I use through summer has patch pockets but I have yet to specify them on a commission. they simply seem more prone to maintenance issues (sagging, etc.) that flap pockets and I don't think they add that much to an outfit.

hectorm,
I didn't know this pocket style but it's quite original as well
Maybe i would put patch a little bit higher so it's really in the center of the pocket

Dear DF,

you are most welcome to do so :D. Since I'm walking around mostly in LL cloth, I got used to being greeted by fellow members.

Cheers, David

Today I got my closets ready for Autumn/Winter and spent a sizeable amount of time cleaning lint, crumbles, etc. from patch pockets (apparently I haven´t done it in years). I even had to resort to the special gadget of the vacuum cleaner.
I love PPs but it never occurred to me that they are much more difficult to clean than those in which you can turn the lining inside out.
