Does anybody have any recent experience of working with Des Merrion? I haven't heard much of him in recent years, but have today found what looks like a new website which seems very interesting.

I spoke with Des several times a few years back and liked him very much. I thought his prices were very reasonable and he does all of the work himself. If I recall correctly, he doesn't like drape, but will otherwise make up a suit in whatever style the customer wants. He's not afraid to give advice as to what style, fabrics & features will best flatter a client, but he'll defer to what the customer wants. The only problem from my perspective was that he no longer travels to the U.S., and I don't travel to the U.K. that often. If I was visiting the U.K. on a regular basis, I wouldn't hesitate to try him out.
