I know of the Al Pascia shop but have never been there. I am, on the other hand, a great fan of Giorgio Musico (and his son Massimo) in Rome. I hope you get to speak with them as well.

Mr. Fox says during the interview: "I don’t believe you will be able to buy a pair of Goodyear welted shoes with our (Crockett & Jones) quality of design and manufacturing strength for a better price in the world today".
I agree. Of course you will find better shoes than C&Js, but not in the 500-600 dollar range.
