Knitted Ties: how to tie them?

Okay, I wore my Paul Stuart knitted tie today and I cannot figure out how to tie it. I used a four-in-hand and it did not cover the space. I used a Windsor and the tie was too short. I checked its length and it is as long as my Carlo Franco seven-folds. Any suggestions for my technique, specific to knitted ties?

I normally use a four-in-hand with knit ties, but with a somewhat looser knot than normal -- not pulled so tight. More rustic and casual, but to my eye more appropriate for a knit tie. You might try that. The resulting knot should be wide enough to fill your tie space.
