Will hopsack wear cooler than other worsteds?

I live in San Diego where the average high in January is in the mid-sixties (18.5 centigrade) so other than Finmeresco, I've never had suits made of anything heavier than 10 oz. I love the way the Finmeresco drapes but am looking for a dark/charcoal grey for my next order. I've been looking at the charcoal hopsack from Lesser's 13 oz. book. Normally, I wouldn't consider going that heavy, but I thought hopsack might moderate the fabric's warmth. So, a simple question to which I can't seem to find an answer: all other things being equal, should I expect a hopsack to wear cooler than a twill or plain finished worsted of the same weight?
In general yes, although I haven't worn Lesser's so couldn't comment on just how much better that works in warmer weather. It's a little tighter and crisper than you will see elsewhere.
Smiths has a few with slightly less tight weave, in their 14oz book. Those work in the East Coast winter even in warmer rooms, so that is another place to start.
