Gentlemen,

Perhaps you could help me with the following.

I am ordering a suit to be used mainly in late spring and summer. I hesitate between two very different cloths: a Scabal wool and mohair from their Botany book, 230grms; and a 280 grms super 100, also from Scabal (Classics book, I believe).

In terms of structure and "hand" I prefer the 280grms. However, I do not know if it will be comfortable above say 30º centigrade. It is not a fresco weave and I am afraid it will be too warm in real summer.

I guess my question could be phrased as what are the limits, in terms of temperature, of a 280 grams cloth.

Another (unrelated) question. Does anyone know H&S Snowy River? They have a lovely beige 260 grms which i am thinking about for a summer suit.

Thank you very much for any comments.

Take a minute and search the forum for discussions of Spring and Summer fabrics. They are plentiful and informative.

As regards Scabal cloth they are generally dependable.

Cheers
