Gentlemen,
Would P&H Glenroyal tweed (14 oz) lend itself to be made up as a 2 piece (in other words, does the fabric have the "guts" to produce reasonably wearing trousers?)
Thank you for your insights. Happy Holidays!
Michael
Would Glenroyal cloth make up as a 2 piece suit?
I do not think so but would defer to anyone with actual experience. I am probably harder on clothes than most but I think that Glenroyal - while a great jacketing - is a little too soft and open for trousers. I have coats in two Glenroyal patterns that have held up quite well over ten years of wear but have never tried trousers for this reason.
I did try a pair of trousers and while I wouldn't insist that nobody else like them, I don't think they were among my better ideas.
Thank you for the advice. I will stay clear of Glenroyal for a country suit. To follow up, any tweed ideas, that would work as a jacket and trousers?
Happy New Year,
Michael

I have two country suits from this cloth. They always get compliments. Your mileage may vary. The trousers feel like pajamas.
