I just purchased on Ebay and am eagerly awaiting arrival of a pair of Tom James loafers. I am familiar with the name in connection with clothing, but not with shoes. Does anyone have any information about them. I realize, of coure, that it is a bit roundabout to ask after the purchase, but I rather like the anticipation of the unknown. Here's are pictures of the shoes: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 7704462606

My guess is that they are made by Crockett & Jones based on the appearance of the soles and the stitching.

Incidentally, Individualized Apparel Group, the parent company of Tom James, has an one third ownership in Crockett.

C&J was my first guess. If so, not too bad for $20 and change!

The shoes arrived; they are clearly C&J, the Harvard model, even bearing the correct C&J numbering for that model: 8365. Ben Silver lists the Harvard model in his current catalog at $435, so I think the $19.95 I paid for these shoes, new and unworn, is a bit of a bargain! :D

eBay is a major addiction.
