Ambiguous? But it is crystal clear: take the classic style, make it contemporary (i.e. change a thing here and there in the essential parts) and then make it original, like nothing you have seen before (of course, for the mere sake of originality). You still haven't figured out to what this definition belongs? Fashion! Fashion in all its splendor.
I think the point many designers (but not just them) miss is that original dress is not an aim, it is the effect of BEING original.
We should re-think the idea about the shoulder
Now, I don't like the puff shoulders on the black/dark suit, but I think he feels about tailormade suits, that he knows about it, and that he cares about elegance. To put him in a category of pure fashionistas seems a bit off.Costi wrote:Ambiguous? Fashion comes in many ways... elegance but one.
I did the short interview with Mr Ricci.
Check out my 50 year old jacket I got as a gift from my grandfather. I think its similar to Mr Ricci's shoulders.

That doesn't have near as much roping. Subtle roping looks good to me. The extent that Ricci has his... yuck. Resembles a military uniform in that respect, which I don't think suits should.
The breast pocket isn't really to my taste either.
