Vassili: Thank you for taking the time to post the lovely photos and information. I am curious, however, as to whether any other Members share my reluctance to order shoes (as lovely as they are) online without knowing of their comfort and fit. Thank you again.

This is their site. To order, you send a fax with exactly what you want based on their terminology (for fax orders, I think it pays to stay simple), i.e., shoe shape, last, color, leather type. There's a number of pics on their site and some can also be found on StyleForum. Eva Vass will send you an email asking you to confirm the order, giving you a quote, etc. Once you agree, they start production and recontact you once the shoes are ready (a few weeks later, 5 in my case). They give you their bank info, you wire the money, and they send you the shoes.

I've been told that they size similar to C&J if you have feet that fit in width E or D, which was my case, so I just ordered the same size I am in C&J.
Should I infer that you actually own C&J shoes? If so, on which last? I do own a few pairs on the 337-last, perhaps I might venture into ordering this particular model in the near future:

The Old English 2 is much nicer than the Old English

I do prefer the brogueing of the Old English over the Old English 2, as for the last, I am undecided...

It fits fine, but I have decided I want something a little less slick, and preferably a derby. Therefore, I'm going to sell those and am not wearing them.

Very nice! Though I favour a more rounded toe myself.. Looks very Cleverley in its squareness, which is no bad thing!

Nice shoes.

By coincidence, I am in Budapest this next week and have just returned from Vass. Finally, some clarity on what lasts and sizes work for me.

Ordered Alt Wien (3636, Cordovan) and Budapester (New Peter, single sole, suede). That is to say, bought them there and am having them shipped.

For reference, current local price is 100,000F for calf and 125,000 for cordovan. Shipping, etc. was 30,000F.

Next stop, Koronya.
