I was thinking of getting a fly-fronted marcella shirt similar to the one below, and having a tailor add a single buttonhole for a dress stud. Do you think it could work or would it look improvised? Also, is a marcella shirt elegant enough for a one button dinner jacket with pointed revers? I would prefer to wear a stiff marcella front shirt with a Grafton collar, but alas my body type does not favor wing collars. I would be wearing a three button black silk or wool waistcoat, gold/onyx dress studs with matching waistcoat studs and cuff-links.

Dear Mr Taste

Welcome to the LL. In joining this club, you have made a most Impeccable choice. The link you have posted, alas, seems to be a broken one. But, pray, do not despair, your question has already been approached, at least in part, in the context of another thread, to wit: http://thelondonlounge.net/gl/forum/vie ... t=marcella

All the best

Now, those were for the left (military form of address, as in 'the Left Hon. Field-Marshal SirLancelot'?) royal household servants.

Here's a lead to an old post by Yours Sincerely:-

much more suitable for right honourable gentlemen.
