Forgive me for living in an olive tree cave, but I discovered today that you have written a book and a dandy of one from all reports.

You join an esteemed group of authors who are members of the LL including Bruce Boyer, Marion Maneker, Ed Hayes and Manton.

I wish you well and look forward to reading the book.

If you are in London on Dec. 17, let me know.

Cheers

Michael
Michael,
I am sure of one thing: that you do not live in a cave! But, if you did, it would probably be the best cave in Sicily and properly proofed to protect not just your wardrobe but also the furniture in which it is housed. But what a splendid endeavour; to rescue and transform olive groves and to see them back to production, under your own supervision. Thank you for your good wishes. I am very proud to be a member of the LL and to be in such good company (in every sense). The best page in my book is not even written by me but, if overall, my book just raises a smile, I shall consider myself well rewarded. If that were not enough, another member of the LL gave it a very gracious review when the book might well have gone unnoticed - but for this place - a virtual place which gives rise to real communication and, even, real friendships. I will make a LL meeting in London very soon I hope but, this year, it is again Christmas on the beach!
best,
Nicholas.

Would the City refer to the central business district of a city? It seems this particular area gives me the creeps if I'm not dressed in a conservative business suit, complete with tie and black oxfords with shoe laces. A waistcoat makes me feel properly armoured when I step into an elevator.

Perhaps Polyphemus’s cave is still free, but you would have to move to Milazzo: no olives, no tailor… not even Galatea! :P

True, but Messina is not far away, there are good tailors there, the best granita on the island and I have always been a BYOG kind of a guy anyway.
