When I think of contrast collar and cuff shirts T&A comes to my mind.
For my personal preference I wear them with a spread or cutaway collar, and double cuffs with cuff links of course.
Also, I only wear them with a suit or blue blazer, never a sport coat.

Contrast-collar and cuff shirts: use and abuse
l'm a fan of the contast look. Moderate spread with french cuffs. Need to be careful where those type of shirts are worn though.
Its not the clothes, but how you wear them.
The contrasting white collar shirt is a great example. Worn well, it can be chic. In summer, with a bit of a tan, white collar on a light blue body with a light gray suit. The secret is keeping the colors tone on tone: light blue with light gray. Tune the contrast level down.
Or the white collar can be gaudy, if there is too much contrast. Picture a dark blue suit with a white collar and light colored body. It jumps out at you, and bites the eye.
