Falke is not much more expensive than Gallo, paid 35€ for my last pair (malpensa, tax fre ...)

But even the simpler falke lines are exelent.

For which Falke socks did you pay 35 €?
Not Falke, GALLO "couture"

I think I have bought lower end Falkes at arrond 12-15€ list.

A french brand worth mentioning is Dore-dore, on par with Pantarella.

Doré-Doré (D D) socks were a quality sock/stocking manufacturer of old standing (based in Lorraine, I think). Like much of the French textile industry, they went bankrupt (in this particular case, within the last year or two, I think) and were bought by an Italian firm (Gallo?). I seem to remember reading that the buyers were going to narrow down the range on offer, but keep the traditional quality. I have had DD socks at different times, and they were very good indeed, and built to last.
