A first bespoke suit, form london: savil row or nearby and who?
that is the question.
I took the plunge recently and have invested heavily in one tailor, but how does one know if one has gone somewhere good and yet missed somewhere better? One does not have tiem to try everyone so......with you help: where is best?

Maestro, a relationship witha tailor is simply that, a relationship. It takes time, patience, effort (and money) to develop. Your third suit will be better than your first and your fifth better than your third. But remember, that just as your pattern evolves and refines towards an initially held ideal, your tastes develop and the target moves.

Choose a tailor based on style, cost, and personality in any order you choose. Use the resources of the LL to test the craftsmanship of the work. Post pictures, no one is shy and will offer constructive criticism. But be gracious with your tailor; remember, they're working with the realities of our persons and not our unrealistic expectations or self-perceptions. At its root, tailoring is a craft and you and your tailor need to stick with a project until its right.

Look at your life and ask if you are the dating or the marrying kind. If you are a dater, the try a couple of tailors and juggle the relationships and varying styles. If you're the marrying kind, just dig in for a while and don't worry about what others are doing. But, remember to stay young enough to admire the well turned lapel of another.

Alternatively, live out your swordsman ambitions vicariously, by flitting from tailor to tailor. It is ultimately less expensive.
