I'm currently working on a story about bespoke cobblers. I am of course including Dimitri Gomez, and wanted to make sure that I had my information correct. Does anyone know where Dimitri trained and worked before setting up his own shop in Crockett and Jones?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Dimitri Gomez told me that he learned his trade from an older French Gentleman who is no longer with us. I have heard that he learned his trade from John Lobb or at least worked there for a time. However, I thought Dimitri told me that he never learned from or worked for John Lobb. I could have misunderstood. Call him and ask him, I am sure he would have no problem telling you: 011-33-1-44-9401-74 (If calling from outside France)

When you think about it, does it really matter where he trained? Dimitri does A++ work, and you will find nobody better or better to deal with. There are, of course, others at the same level, but nobody really above. Each time bespoke shoemakers have seen me in my DG shoes, they have not only been impressed, but they have spent a good amount of time checking them out.
