...A plain herringbone in brown ,or in a green and brown mix, from John G. Hardy's Alsport book (16 oz and up). Pretty indestructible and goes with everything.

Brown herringbone Harris tweed.

I prefer patterns, they are more interesting.

Kolecho -- I have a couple pieces of old brown harris tweed that are now being made into jackets. Personally, I cant think of a more handsome sport jacket.

Hugh Laurie wears a nice brown Harris tweed 3pc suit (with some lovely brogues) in the "Bertie and Jeeves" series.

Having just made up my LL BoB lambswool tweed jacket, Harris tweed stuff feels like barbed wire :D
