Japanese "Last" magazine
Surely not so sharp and narrow as, say Vass's "U" last?
No, more subtle than that.

She obviously did not extend that warning to shoe catalogues.
Hi John
It would be quite difficult to spot the differences in a picture between the Churchill and the berkley, but they would be more apparent if you were holding the two side by side.
The Churchill has a longer wing on the vamp and a slightly longer cap, the throat of the vamp is also slightly narrower, whereas the churchhill can have a longer sweeping look exaggerated even more by the 22 last, the berkley is a shorter slightly stumpier version especially on the 202 last, although it does look a lot better on the 82 and the 888 last.
somtimes these things can stand out to me more than most as i have the shoes to analyze all the time.
Tony
Manton describes the last perfectly, long and slender but not a very good fit for most.
