Seems that Ralph Lauren Purple Label is suggesting black and charcoal colors for suits:

You can scroll through the lookbook using the arrow on the right-hand side of the three models.

That's all I really know so far.

Herbert ,
in order to know what should be warn during the next fall/winter season as well as during the other future coming fall/winter seasons, the only thing to do is to look at the superb posts by Etutee in "The Archive of Featured Articles" Section of this Site concerning the classical male fashion as represented in the splendid drawings published by Esquire /Apparel Arts in the '30
The posts concerning fall/winter fashion suggestions are the followings:
Vol. I No. VIII (Oct 05') Fall / Winter Items -AA/Esky
Vol. I No. VIII (Oct 05') Fall / Winter Items -AA/Esky
Vol. II No. III (Feb 06') Late Winter / Spring Items A
Vol. I No. VIII (Oct 05') Fall / Winter Items -AA/Esky
VOL. II NO. VI (Oct 06') Out Of Town Clothes AA
VOL. II NO. VI (Oct 06') Out Of Town Clothes AA.
I am sure that there You will find the right answer to Your question.

Herbert, I am not sure if this is the right forum for RTW (a.k.a., OTR) clothing as I suspect many of the gentlemen here are more interested in bespoked clothing and accessories.

Of course there are things common to all, whether RTW or tailored. So maybe you may obtain some answers relevant to you after all.

Bear in mind that factors such as age, culture, geographical location, social status and economic background may affect the kind of clothing people adopt; so a full answer to your question may require several volumes! The answers may be more relevant to you if you provide more details about the kind of people who will be wearing the clothes.

Anyway, I wish you well.

I wouldn't bow to fashion, but I do give it a nod. Knowledge of tradition is necessary, but I think some awareness of recent trends is good. Not all that is new or popular is worthless.

As Etutee and others have written, much of what we consider classic was once cutting-edge, including what the AA/Esky drawings depict.

For that I rely on poplular men's magazines or the Thursday NY Times Style section.
Online, GQ and Details have short, interesting lists: http://men.style.com/
And there's the London Times: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/life_and_style/men/

But I'm a consumer. I would assume the buyers of such stores as LouisBoston or Fred Segal's would need to be a few steps ahead of the media. Given the largely "trickle-up" tendency of culture, you would probably need to check out such stores as Yellow Rat Bastard to forecast formal dress trends far into the future. But gems would be rare among the muck. That's perhaps the best thing about following a tradition -- much sifting has been done by one's predecessors.

PS, the stores above have interesting websites, such as http://www.yellowratbastard.com/store/index.aspx

Whatever I can locate. Whenever I can find it. I'm almost 52, and do very little shopping anymore. It's labor enough to wear what I own.
