I've noted that in striped or patterned cloth, when made into a jacket, the darts on the jacket body often prevent the pattern from aligning over the pocket flaps. Has anyone had ( or do, for the tailors) the flaps themselves darted to preserve the pattern alignment? A patch pocket would seem to exacerbate the problem. Has anyone had these darted as well? Is there a reason why this wouldn't work?

With most cloth's you can, and should cut the darts so the pocket flap will still match.

It's not too hard to do.
