Time to think ahead to winter. I am considering some flannels. What are the pros and cons of woollen vs worsted flannels?

This has been done before, so a search would not be out of order.

Current feeling about woollens:

Pros-- nice color variation, esp in grey. Very warm. Comfortably so in dry midwinter conditions.
Cons-- not as durable as worsteds. Needs some time to settle down between wearings, and might even need a tune-up at your tailor after a season. For all of the above, probably better in a social rather than a business setting. Looks best in chalk stripes, which sort of defeats the above, unless you like wearing stripes to your club for lunch. Very warm. Especially in high humidity, when they are unbearably scratchy.

Worsted flannels partake less of woollens' virtues and vices. Decide for yourself if that makes them more or less attractive.
