Just thought I would drop off some pics of my friends in their classic duds.
I love the high cut double breasted suits that are nipped in at the waist.

Very cool pics and a great gang!
The clothing is fabulous and everyone wears it so well.
The ties and the trousers' drape is particularly interesting.
Very interesting post.

Except for the dress shirts on some, those guys are 30's and 40's from head to toe.

The pants are cut a bit fuller in the legs and the harder denser fabric holds the creases better.

One reason why the greats (Astaire, Cooper, and Menjou) look much different than today's man is that the cloths were heavy had excellent drape.

Thanks for the pictures.

Evidently, you all belong to some group. What is it?

We are all just great fans of the era where jackets and ties were made tougher than they are today.

Most of the ones in the photos are WWII reenactors and swing dancers with an avid interest in the lifestyle of the 20's 30's and 40'. We have various parties and get togethers.

It's true, the high waisted trousers and straight hanging drape very much differentiate these trousers from modern trousers.
It's as if the pictured trousers convey instant style.
You just can't find modern trousers that wear this way.
BTW, are these vintage clothes easy to find in your area?

Being a waist size 40 I have to hunt and peck through vintage shops before I find a good pair. If I were a smaller waist size I would have much less trouble.

I've run into many tailors here in California who think they know the 1930's style though make you a modern or 1960's style pants. Hard to find a tailor to make the full cut unless you give him a pair to copy, and even then they usually want to take the pants apart.

I don't have full access to the image pages for some reason, so I thought I would ad this pic to this thread.

It is Buster Keaton in a bouble breasted suit, I believe early late 20's early 30's.

4 button 3-piece double breasted with bottom button fastened. Nice amount of shirt cuff showing as well.

I like the high waist, though the depression look always leaves me a little depressed.
