I came across an Aquascutum trenchcoat for sale at a local higher end "previously enjoyed" clothing shop.
Interestingly, along with the traditional Aquascutum label which denotes the appointment to the Queen and Queen Mother, it says "Made in Canada."
Does anyone know anything about Aquascutum coats that were made "across the pond?" Are they the same quality? I haven't been able to find a reference elsewhere on the internet.
Thanks.

Aquascutum - made in Canada?
About a year ago I went out to the Aquascutum shop on the east side of Montreal.
The building had been sold, the space cut up in to small ateliers.
I contacted Aquascutum to inquire if they were still making in Canada and if so where, and received no reply. I did not persue this any further.

The Canadian operation closed in 1995, so
the garment you saw had to be older than that.

Do either of you gentlemen know whether the coats were made to the same standard?

raincoat several years ago. It was of very good quality and lasted a long
time.
I can't imagine Aquascutum varying their standards, but it's possible
different models were made in Canada.
I too have an older Aquascutum and it is a nice piece.
I have tried to find an treated 100 percent cotton rain coat and they seem to only make coats of blended fabrics these days.
