Doctor:

Surely in the Philadelphia area there are any number of antique stores, junk shops, flea markets, etc., that sell similar items at a comparable price, but with that all-important patina of age. Moreover, you'll have the thrill of discovery when you find it! A new suit is a good thing; new furniture is not.

A valet is a classic piece of furniture for the bedroom or dressing room.

It seems like a good price. It seems that they will customize the wood, drawer pulls, and drawer interiors.

I think that Brooks Bros. used to carry it. There is a gift and decorating store on Park Avenue between 57th & 58th Streets whose name escapes me. I believe that they carry a variation.

Cheers.

I like fine furniture, but a valey that looks very nice and is only $100 seems a good place to save some cash. It holds what, 10 pounds? Save your cash for something that takes some wear and tear, in my opinion.

The problem with that one is that it is not solid wood and therefore has flimsy c onstruction. Most valets are constructed like this, hence my desire for something b etter. I went with the Sculley and Sculley one which was nicer than the one | had, but not fabulous. It cost 300.
