I understand that Rubinacci produces bespoke suits and coats in both Milan and Naples. Does anyone know if there are any style variations between bespoke Rubinacci garments produced in one city vs. the other? If so, what are they? Thanks.

This question was recently posed to Luca Rubinacci (I think by Trilby but I may be wrong) during our London chapter visit last week. His reply was affirmative but he said, " only to those at Rubinacci".

Of course, he had little foreknowledge of the discerning eye of a LL member. :)

I asked Mariano Rubinacci about this recently. He said that there were some differences in what you would get in each shop if you did not specify certain details, but that either shop was able to make suits in either style. His main examples were that Milan does less shirt-sleeve shoulder and Naples tends to do coats with a front cut while Milan generally uses a front dart.

Insist on having your suit made only in Naples if you want a true Rubinacci made by Neapolitan hands, a descendant of the original.
