Greetings to all!

I had the fine opportunity, with the help of my wife; to peruse the volumes of the Apparel Arts books today! It was inspiring to view what I consider the classic style of dressing in it's infancy from these books. It is worth every effort to see this, to enhance one's personal education of the fine art of dressing! Seeing it gave me so many ideas and whetted my appetite for heading to a tailor to have a few pieces made up.
It is my aim to own a copy. If anyone finds it necessary to part with their volumes/knows where I can secure the volumes [with outer case intact]...please contact me!! [ajrch2@aol.com] I am not sure what these would be worth on the used book market, but it would surely complete my collecting. It is too volumous to even attempt to photocopy or scan all the images and the reading material, (notwithstanding the legal issues) but if I had the time and my old high speed/volume color copier, it would be a labor of love! [Recently retired!]
I just thought I would share.
It would really be nice if a publishing house would republish the volumes. I wonder how many on the forum would have an interest in seeing that done and would be willing to pay for such?

Kind Regards,

I imagine the majority of Loungers would pay for a book containing all of the AA prints. I know I would!

Dear Bespoken2

Maybe you should try the following link:

http://www.sautter-lackmann.de/lager/ti ... ?bn=292585

It looks like they have the books (volumes I-III) available at a resonable price.

With best regards

Anyone who wants that book should buy this now. Copies of this set come up for sale very, very rarely.

Jagdriver,

Thank you so much, from a former Jag driver...1990 XJ6. I have dispatched an email to the book sellers from your link and I am awaiting a positive reply. I tried to order directly, but I couldn't get a positive translation page from babelfish for me to move forward to order directly online. I am very hopeful of securing a copy. Whatever it takes!

Manton,

Yes, I would agree! I feel for those who are not able (self included) to secure a copy of this type of material when it was originally published. I was a 'student' of the art of dressing at the time. I hadn't found sites, like this one or understood the universal implications of being in such a 'mens club' of sorts, that this and others have started. I haven't spent much time here in the past. That will soon change. I will have to get up to speed on the limited edition clothing projects that are being offered. The "Alden" cap, seems to be an interesting aquisition, as well as the Charvel neck tie. I presume these are still available for ordering?

Most Kind Regards,
B-spoken II
