This is not a "my wardrobe is better than yours" post, but a list of dress items I have not a single regret about, and that means a lot of fine clothing items are excluded. But I recommend these items without reservation, worth every penny, everything considered:

shoes: Weston Chasse (tan)
Weston boat shoe (tan)
EG Dundee (chestnut)
EG wholecut (black)

EG belts in the 4 basic colors with silver buckles

I obtained all these direct, either from the EG factory or store in London, or the original Paris Weston store

Centofanti: raglan coat in NHTC tweed
hacking jacket in NHTC 646
don't-ask-the-weight corduroy trousers in tan
don't-ask-the-weight moleskin trousers in gray
Pantherella cotton lisle ankle length socks in black from the AK
heaviest Irish linen suits x 2 from Bill and Drapers, by Negrila, Bucharest, in light blue and dark blue, with another on the way in medium blue
all my shirts from Jantzen (9)

And yours, gentlemen?

I see no mention of a certain infamous shirt from Bugelli... or the Vasslutis...

A thread about clothes that you don't regret seems a tad negative. May I propose rather the flip side of it -- a discussion of clothes and other items that have just been great ideas, as indispensable as they seemed at the moment of purchase?

I guess a few of those would be ...
my little Smythson notebook and mini Hermes silver pen, which work very wel for jotting down information on the fly.
Sized Sea Island cotton socks from Pantherella via Tricker's, because they fit great and are incredibly soft and comfortable.
MTO EG Newburies that fit better than any non-sport shoe I've ever owned.
my nylon RJ dopp kit (lightweight, pliable and quite cute).
My Smythson folding travel tray
EG belts, I concur, are good value.
H&K handmade ties from London (special collection) and Paris (all ties handmade).

WHat is the "nylon RJ dopp kit?"

I have reservations about most things. But that doesn't mean I don't like my other things. I am not interested in validating everything I have purchased in fashion or done in life for that matter, most things have both good and bad. Except the things I listed. I was curious about other's "perfect items."

The list includes clothing and accessories. I get a lot of mileage from them, especially the accessories which are not seasonal.....

Swaine Adeney bridle leather wallet
Alden cordovan key pouch
Peccary leather gloves from Peru
Certain Charvet and Marinella ties
Vintage Rolex Submariner
Lindberg eyeglasses
Newly acquired Cordings cotton raincoat should make the list

NHTC = North Highland Tweed Company.

The mention of the Cordings raincoat is interesting, because I debated whether to add my Cordings Mackintosh to the list. It is an excellent and useful item, but the flaws of rubberized cotton are well known, so since I was only mentioning "items about which I have NO regrets" I left it out. But it is a great fashion item, well worth the $600 I paid for it. I should add my Barbour Northumberland coat to the list. I could find faults with it, but not many. I guess my major regret is that it is not sized to fit over a jacket, so that I lose that versatility.

This is an interesting thread. There is much in my wardrobe I like but what is truly indispensable? What items would I replace with "exact" copies if they were stolen or damaged/worn?

bespoke charcoal and Cambridge grey 13oz flannel trousers (Arkus)
bespoke tobacco, stone and dark blue linen trousers (Arkus)
dark suede elegant C&J brogues
calf leather RL (C&J) driving shoes
Irish linen peak lapel natural colour linen bespoke suit (Hitchcock)
LL Charvet tie
LL "Windsor" EG chestnut brown brogues (fit me like bespoke)

I also agree with the EG range of belts and the EG black wholecuts.

Shoes:
1. EG Montpellier loafer, 184 last, burnt pine antique
2. EG Spey blucher, double leather soles with half middles, 202 last, dark oak antique

Suits:
1. MTM Samuelsohn from a Charles Clayton wool/cashmere blend, medium gray with a bold tan windowpane, single breasted, 2 button, side vented, with a vest
2. RTW Attolini, navy with light blue pinstripe, single breasted 3 button (rolled to 2), side vented.

Sportscoats:
1. MTM Oxxford zepher weave (like a fine hopsack), 2 button side vented
2. RTW RLPL cashmere blazer, 3 button (rolled to 2), side vented

Shirts:
1. White Charles Tyrwhitt sea island cotton. Lots of people say they are too baggy but I really like their sea island cotton and find the collars just about perfect.
2. Brooks Brothers slim fit, non-iron, blue and white striped oxford button down

Overcoat:
1. Custom made (by my local tailor) overcoat of dark brown wool with a bold black windowpane

May I add my favourite dress items to the list?

shoes:
a pair of Crockett & Jones oxford full brogues from the "handgrade collection" finished in antique tan
very soft leather, perfect slimfit, and most elegant silhouette

jacket:
a 3 button Brioni sports coat with side vents made of a dark grey-blue camel-hair with brown over-check
a souvenir bought at Knize when visiting Vienna last autumn

trousers:
tan corduroy pants, single pleated
perfectly matching the sports coat

shirt:
blue oxford striped MTM shirt with button-down collar by Emanuel Berg
