I just ordered a navy grenadine tie from mulberrywood. My understanding is that the website is being updated to offer grenadine ties (in numerous colors) beginning in August.
I agree that the service is excellent. I had my tie in two days.

Gentlemen,
Thank you for your kind words.
And yes it is true that we will be offering 34 different colors of Italian Grenadine silk on our website for our August silk offerings, starting next week. The basic Black, Navy, Green, Gray & Red of course, along with a number of other colors and shades, for a total of 34 Grenadine silks.
Encooper was an early bird and he had a special event to attend, so we made a special effort to very quickly complete his bespoke tie.
However, normally it takes roughly three weeks for a bespoke tie to be completed if we have the silk on hand here in Denver. If we are custom weaving the silk roughly three months.

A classy artisan and a very nice guy.
I will also add to the accolades. I ordered several ties in English silk and they are my favorites now. Excellent value and service at a very reasonable price. I'm not sure I'll ever buy another RTW tie!
Exceptional quality and service. Can't be beat - great silks, perfect patterns and weights. Absolutely the best ties I have and the only ones I'll wear!

Wow...great reviews! I was on the Mulberrywood site the other day and was considering trying them out. I'll make a point of it now.

We have a Navy* Italian grenadine silk that makes a beautiful lined six-fold tie (think what Kiton calls a seven-fold). The weight and loose weave of the grenadine combined with the wool interlining make a perfect drape.
I am working on an English oxford weave silk that will be a very dark navy/midnight blue. This silk will make a very nice lined/tipped six-fold tie.
I will keep you posted.
* plus lighter and darker blues
Just got some samples today. Looking forward to seeing more! The only other MTM grenadines I know of are from Turnbull, and they are a lot more expensive without necessarily being better.
What exactly is grenadine silk?
A loosely-woven tie fabric derived from thin silk gauze and very sheer - a bit like a knit with its loose weave of twisted yarns.

"Garza Grossa" Italian Grenadine Silk
Grenadine silk is actually a gauze silk that is woven. It has a very nice classic look and drapes very well. The best grenadine silk is from Italy and basically is of two types:
Garza Grossa and Garza Fine. The Grossa Fine appears to be a looser weave but is not so much looser as woven in a more open manner. Maybe later I will post a photograph to show the difference.
We are currently using Italian Garza Grossa for our bespoke Grenadine ties. Which are made with the length, width, shape, construction etc. that our client's prefer. In short completely bespoke.
E. Tage Larsen:
The tie that you (and later David) describe is the tie that ordered. Condsidering that the ties are custom, they are an UNBELIEVABLE value.
