Gentlemen,

I understand by reading posts here on the site that Mr Alden has generously posted a guide to a minimal wardrobe that might be of assistance to an impoverished neophtye such as myself. Can someone point me in the right direction as I must confess to being a little lost in this world of suitings and shirtings and worsted.

Also can anyone recommend a good tailor in the North East of England?

Thank you for your attention and patience

Dear AJ Culpitt

Thomas Mahon of English cut works in Cumbria.
He's a very well respected tailor

Also in Cumbria is Ed DeBoise of Steed, a former partner of Mahon. Actually, it was Mahon who left Steed and eventually started English Cut. They are quite different from each other at the margins, but both offer so-called "soft-tailored" jackets.
