Saburo is Japanese for business suit (say it quickly).

From my limited Japanese language abillity, Saburo of Evisu Saburo is the japnaese pronunciation of "Savile Row".Evisu, Worldwide-famous Osaka-based Jean company, has been expanding its labels from baby clothing,men's and women's casual wear and even to business suits. I have visited their tailor stores in Osaka and Tokyo and found they carry various styles of suits made from their original esthetics.It is interesting that they also have a branch tailor store at the homeland of suits.

Evisu has bought the premises of Anthony J Hewitt and Ravi Tailor, who still operate out of that store despite its being now an Evisu boutique. Evisu is offering some form of tailoring or bespoke out of that store. Hence the hybrid Evisu Saburo. Saburo or Sabiro has variously been said to be Japanese for suit, a Japanese synonym for suit, or Japanese for a three-piece suit. Its etymology is rather clear.

When I was in London in March, Evisu would run you up a bespoke denim suit; peak lapels and all mod-cons. Bolts and bolts of denim to choose from. Enzyme washed, pebble dashed, sunlight faded. Just too many choices for me. DDM

For what its worth, Evisu has some of the best denim on the market. Its made the old fashioned way on 50-80-year old narrow looms. They were the original pioneer of the artisanal denim craze. Fantastic stuff -- if you like denim.

Saburo or Sebiro means indeed both - the japanese pronounciation of "Savile Row" as well as the japanese word for suit.
They could have chosen the word "Napoli" for "suit" - but it was "Savile Row"- their synonym for the birthplace of the suit.
