Some of you might be a little astonished what an Essay have to do with the LondonLounge?

"....Within the walls of the London Lounge, all subjects of discussion and debate that
permit a greater understanding of the bespoke apparel arts are encouraged..."

Why - do we have a faible to be well dressed and showing good Taste?
Before we find an answer we should describe what is "good Taste"?
And how to define it?
Is it to make a perfect tie knot? But there a serveral ways to bind a tie.Wich one is the
best?Or better, the closest to good Taste?
Don`t understand me wrong.I dont say a fourinhand is better than a windsor knot. Some of us prefer the one way, some the other. But who can say wich one shows taste better. What i want to say is.Its all a personal point of view.
All in all we have something in common in the LL. We all believe that we have good taste. But all the others out there.Do they have bad taste or no taste?
What is more worse? Bad or no taste?
What`s with those we declare to have not a good taste. What will they think about us?
Snobbish? Eccentric? Strange? Its all about the personal point of view ;)
Now i will come to the WHY
Why we like, for example, 3 piece tweed suits while others say those are completely
outdated?
Do we miss those "good old times". We all no that there wasen´t any good old times.
Maybe we want have back the time where almost every man wore a suit and was more or less good dressed?I can speak only for myself.
Whe i was young i try to show my individuality in wearing the same blue jeans that the
other boys wear. Now i know that that was the complete opposite. We all was a great bunch of blue jeans and tshirt wearing army ;)
Then i saw that i can show my peronal individuality in other ways. With more style. So while others still wore there jeans i dress in good woolen trousers. And others take notice of what i wear!!
Is that what we want? To be noticed for good style and taste?
A second thing i noticed whan i started to wear suits and jackets.

1.) I was treated with more respect (defenatly)
2.) My behaviour was changing ( i hope better )
3.) I´m more self-confident (sure)

An example?
Since years i have mail pattern baldness and so i sport for about 10 years a clean shaven head. When i come in a shop wearing blue jeans they all look at me if i am a radical skinhead or whatever.
If i come in the same shop wearing suit and tie the employees treat me very politely !
So,do make us different dresses to a different persons?
Maybe....

The whole world knows that London is the Mekka when it comes to mens dressing. The british
are undisputable known as role modell (Duke of Windsor...)
The American usally known as....to be polite, not realy role modells.
The Italians take influences from UK and bring in there own taste.....sometimes good
sometimes not so (remember those monster tie knows some time ago)..
The french ....something in between...
I dont want to affront anyone on LL!
These things i have in my mind for so long and could´t share them with someone.

I wrote this with a twinkle of an eye.
