Gents,

does anyone have A&S contact info handy? I can't seem to find it anywhere - on line or off line.

Thanks,
a.

If you should ever lose this info, there is now a new website for the firm. Not much there yet, but there is all of the contact info:

Gents, I have a good friend who just ordered a lounge and a dinner suit at A&S. FYI, something like 2,400 GBP each, a little more than quoted on a previous thread.

Just last year their base was around 2,100 before VAT. Special fabric and/or the British tax would easily take it to 2,400.

FWIW, their price for a 3-piece sans fabric (i.e., what a Cloth Club member would pay) is 1,995 ex VAT. I'd suppose that the waistcoat accounts for about 300 of that.

On a side note, I have read that after 2 decades, Prince Charles has removed their Royal Warrant for making his bespoke suits. Apparently he is buying RTW from Turnbull and Asser now.

Ouch!

Does that mean that A&S isn't giving a break on its price when the cloth is seperately provided by the customer?

Seems unreasonable.

.... actually, on this subject of supplying one's own cloth, what should one expect in terms of discount from the tailor's base price?

Sorry-- the 2,000-2,100 was for a 2-piece suit with their cloth. The 1,995 where you supply cloth was for a 3-piece. I don't have a separate quote for a 2-piece with your own cloth, but I'd assume it was around 1,600-1,650 ex-VAT.

Just wanted to let you gentlemen know that the A&S website has some photos posted. The new shop looks very clubby.

Best Regards,
