Since it is the beginning of Carnaval here (it happens not just in Rio but in the Sleepy Hollow too), I have been having a crack at JC's Lullaby number but, so far, I have only had small change thrown at me from passing cars; whose occupants seem, at least, to be, in some meaningful way, entertained. It might be (as I prefer to think), because of the excellence of the performance or (and it's a big 'or'), it might have something to do with a slightly arthritic, middle-aged Gringo dancing the light fantastic in a tweed suit, checked vest, cloth cap, tap shoes and hunting stock, in nearly 100'F heat, when everyone else is virtually in the nude.

I am undecided.

The home audience is nodding sagely, as I write...

You give me an opportunity for a sur les escaliers from my last post: a tape of the nearly nude spectators would be far more interesting.

NJS, I think that there is no shortage of video clips of nude carnival spectators. Just taking a hint from our little quest for The World of Wooster DVDs, would you do it if enough people urged you to? I also think the 'British Eccentrics' thread could use another entry. Wouldn't you agree?
