Edward , the actual Duke of Kent (1935 -), son of the former Duke of Kent George (1902-1942). In this picture , taken in 1961, he is with his fiancéè Katerine Worsley (later Duchesse of Kent). The dark grey double breasted suit, the beautiful macclesfield tie and the graceful sticking out of the breast pocket square make a perfect final outfit, reminding us the superb elegance of the father.

The picture, taken on November 1937 , shows King George VI wearing on his British Army uniform a superb example of the "British Warm Trenchcoat". This overcoat, made by the heavy weight melton fabric (35 oz./meter) was used by British Army officers since the first World War. Many pictures from the second World War show General Bernard Law Montgomery wearing it. On the right of the Queen Consort Elisabeth, the british poitician Sir Samuel Hoare (1st Viscount of Templewood,1880- 1959) wears a beautiful single breasted overcoat with peak lapels, enriched by a carnation as boutonierre.

It's been a while for this thread, but I thought I'd revive it with this—
