Aristide - Neil Monro 'Bunny' Roger was a couturier who, in the 1950s, promoted the 'New Edwardian' look, exemplified in the photograoh above. Howard Carter was an archaeologist who was funded by Lord Caernarvon to search the Valley of The Kings. He found the tomb of Tutankhamun in 1922.

Excellent read, shredder, thanks for posting the picture and the link. Here's an interesting conclusion of the author:
As for the Eton-Harrow match, it was cut from two days to one in 1982. Hardly anyone attends apart from the pupils, some very reluctantly, and the dress code is “smart casual”: if a photographer wanted to re-create Sime’s picture now he might be faced with five boys dressed much the same, in jeans and brand names. Giving a superficial impression of equality, the picture would be even more of a lie than before.

Costi, I think it is one of the consequences of the unfortunate and increasingly popular notion that equality is tantamount to sameness. The malaise seems to be airborne, and there seems to be a persistent wind coming from the west...

The three button, peak lapel combination is an intriguing one. As if my choice about doing with my PoW Brisa wasn't difficult enough already.
