Gene Tierney, Rex Harrison and George Sanders in The Ghost and Mrs Muir - there's no better film for a blustery Sunday afternoon. But I''ll raise you a Katharine Hepburn:

- because, to my mind, as well as the fact that she had that face and that voice and that character - Bringing Up Baby, Holiday, Woman of the Year, The Philadelphia Story, Guess Who's Coming o Dinner and On Golden Pond are pretty hard to beat for sheer entertainment; ranging from zany comedy to social statement.

Michael - I am sure that we had this conversation before...Anyway here are some more living ones:
Greta Scaatchi.
[/img]
Helena Bonham Carter.
Kristin Scott Thomas.
Besides these, here are a couple that I include for their talents to amuse - although both were lovely looking in their youth:
[/img]
Joyce Grenfell, singer and comedienne.
Fanny Craddock (plus Johnny) television cook.

As far as I know, and unless I misunderstand what you wrote, both Lauren Bacall and Olivia de Haviland are still alive, the latter living in Paris.alden wrote:
(For all of you CHIC fans, Bacall had loads of it and Myrna Loy just a dash. While both beautiful, Simmons and De Haviland, had none.)

Frog in Suit
I used to see her regularly, wobbling down 57th Street drunk as a lord (or was it a judge, I forget) as I stepped out for lunch. It was a bit sad to see her that way, her beguiling eyes being replaced by eyes that appeared a bit out of focus, looking a bit lost. Amazingly, she was still the chicest thing on the pavement, on any given day.
They fought over everything else so I supposes it has come down to that.storeynicholas wrote: Isn't Olivia de Havilland the only survivinig cast member of Gone With the Wind? and aren't Olivia de Havilland and her sister Joan Fontaine in a battle to see who will outlive the other?
