I'm not entirely certain I like Charles' suits. He seems to be getting a little broad of hip and narrow of shoulder, and his Anderson and Sheppard suits seem to accentuate this, with their light waist suppression and unpadded shoulders. When I look at photos of him when he was younger, he looks wonderful. But now I believe he might benefit from a little more nipped waist and a slightly extended shoulder. He has a large head too, which might look well with more shoulder to the suits.

Could it be that his tailors have made for him in the same way for so long that they don't really LOOK at him any more? The suits fit perfectly, of course, but it might be time for a pattern change to address the effects of comfortable middle age. I really like the concept of a particular style of suit as a constant for life so I'm only thinking about a slight mid course correction, not a big change.

Do tailors and customers run the risk of complacency when they've been together a long time? It seems like his tailors are making for him in exactly the same way they did when he didn't have those figure flaws. But the change has come on slowly, and nobody's really looked at him with fresh eyes; the suits just aren't very flattering any longer.

I'd really like to hear some of your views!
