I've found a larger version of the Gary Cooper photo that inspired the London Lounge tie. You can see the detail of the tie fabric a bit more clearly:

Speaking of Cooper, I can't remember ever seeing an overcoat fit as well. The sleeve is attached so naturally that it looks like it flows seamlessly and invisibly into the coat. There's no roped sleevehead jutting out here. The coat traces the outer shoulder blade and then curves inward to follow the small of the back. You can see a genius of design in the details -- to continue the fluid, smooth lines, the coat has besom pockets. This overcoat shows: there is nothing as complicated as doing something simply perfectly.
