I walked by a local vinyl shop recently, and something in their window caught my attention even though I have not had a turntable in ages: a 007 Casino Royale soundtrack LP from the 60s. Of course, a soundtrack tends to accompany a film, but in this instance, I didn't think that Casino Royale was produced as a film back then. As this is good ol' Europe and it was on a Sunday, the shop was shut so I was not able to enquire about the piece of vinyl.
Was the film made back then?

Dear Shredder,
There is a parody produced in 1966, starring Peter Sellers, Ursula Andress, David Niven and Orson Welles. Could it be the one you've heard?

Casino Royale was made as a film in 1967 according to my trusty Halliwell, David Niven played Bond. I have not seen the film for more than thirty years and would not waste time on it again. A waste of a highly talented cast and crew.
That explains the comical looking album cover... Thanks for your replies.
