Hanging trousers is the bane of my life (one of them anyway!). Folding them over the bar of a suit hanger doesn't work, the legs never fold along the line of the crease and they need to be pressed before they can be worn again. Clamp style hangers don't work either, they hold the trouser hem adjacent to the side seam instead of at the edges, with the result that the creases are not held taught by the weight of the garment. I confess I did not know the trick, and have used it now with some of my trousers.

The opposing bars of the clamp are not flat pieces of wood, rather they are bowed out in the centre to allow sufficient space for the side seam of the trousers. Thus the clamp grips the hem at the front and back edge of the trouser leg, giving a nice crease on the turn-up and allowing the trousers to hang perfectly.

Oh, that! I've never seen the flat version, all my (not so special and nice) clamping hangers are bowed in the middle. Lucky me, I guess !
