What are members' favourite commercials - I mean the ones that are so arresting in themselves that often you actually ignore the product!

Irn-Bru has had so many fantastic, subversive commercials it is difficult to settle on a favourite. A number of them are available on YouTube and should provide entertaining viewing for anybody who is interested. There's the wonderful parody of The Snowman that was released a couple of years ago and resurfaces at Christmas. Most recently, there's the version of Kipling's 'If' about what it means to be Scottish. Going back a bit, there was the one that sent up the Coke and Pepsi ads:
Wouldn’t you know it, it’s one of those ads,
Lots of kids with white teeth and giant shoulder pads,
It’s not a drink by those crazy Yanks,
It’s made right here, you know it’s tougher than tanks,
Made in Scotland from girders,
Unpronounceable too,
Made in Scotland from girders,
Barr’s Irn Bru.
Mind you, I'm not sure these ads meet the set criteria since it's rather difficult to ignore the product. It's phosphorescent orange, for goodness' sake.

You don't have to forget the product - I just mean that some adverts are so arresting in themselves that the copywriters should both get a trophy -
and the sack!
