As the season turns, I am looking for a fragrance in lieu of my trusted Creed Green Irish Tweed. I'd like to stay with the Creed line and am looking for something along the lines of Dunhill Edition (cardomon, amber, etc.; "warm" in a word), but with more complexity and subtlety. Your suggestions and comments are invited.

In the Creed line my choice is their Neroli Sauvage but then I'm a Neroli fan. The Czech and Speake Neroli is the best I have found though.

Look at the Floris range http://www.florislondon.com/FlorisSite/ ... granceList

Prada Amber Pour Homme is a possibility.

I don't know about subtlety, but for "warm" and "complexity" I've been won over by Bel Ami by Hermes. I arrived at it via a blind A-B series of a half-dozen flights of sample pairs prepared after a long interrogation by the staff at the Harrod's upstairs perfume gallery, where they have access to most things. I was not familiar with it so had no preconceptions. It is quite amazing in very cold weather.

I've also found that Tabac Blond from the urn works very well for me in autumn. It took awhile for me to acquire the taste, but once it came into focus it became a staple.

If you have not tried Ormond Jayne's Man, you might explore it. The pink pepper note just takes too long to back off for me, but it's also very warm, and quite an unusual accord.

In the Creed line, beyond GIT, I've been working through a sample of Vintage Tabarome, but it's not particularly warm on me, and so far I'm not warming to the soapy opening. I'll try it again in warmer weather.

I haven't been around for an absolute age, so my apologies for a late reply to this thread.

I would recommend Creed's Ambre Cannelle or even their Acier Aluminium. I wear them both and they work wonderfully in the cooler weather. At least if you wear either of these, you can stay faithful to the House of Creed.
