A good deal of the literature on natural winemaking is written in French as the movement has been in existence for quite some time. Researching the net for articles relating to the subject, I discovered that Anglophones refer to natural wines as “real wines” in the same way as the English call there pure drinks “real ale.”

A blog about wine in Paris that contains a list of the major shops specialized in natural or artisanal wines. You will find Alden walking around many of these shops but particularly that of Cave Auge and the Cave des Papilles. As some of you who have visited Paris know, the LL Paris chapter holds its meetings in “real wine” stores and restaurants. Many of you have been fortunate enough to taste some of the works.

I believe that the interest and support we direct towards bespoke artisans and craftsmen should be applied across the entire spectrum of elegant living, so make an effort to find some of these wines and give them a taste.
As someone who has had the pleasure of drinking the best that France and Italy can offer for the better part of a lifetime, I can say that once you smell and taste the difference in real wines, you will never be tempted to drink anything else. I don’t.
