Hello Gentlemen,
I need your help! At the moment I am living in a rental but I am lucky enough to be purchasing a place of my own in January or so I hope, it will likely be quite small, around 22 sq. m. I think but I would like to make the best of it. I know this is quite an unusual request but I would very much appreciate any advice you could give me in order to make this little apartment as comfortable and luxurious as I can! I have never renovated nor built anything before and so I am completely ignorant of how to make the best out of such small surface but I know that something very comfortable can be made of it. The kind of advice that I am looking for is of the nature of how to build a nice closet that doesn't take up too much space, how one can have one of those classic wooden closets made... Whom makes the best sinks... How one can build a non slippery shower (The shower floor would be a sort of rough stone thing on which one can not slip)... Where one can find a good quality bed without ruining one's budget... And any other advice you may have on buying furniture, equipment and all those things! Your advice will be very much appreciated.

Style wise think of a mix between the furniture at the White's, Boodle's, the East India Club and Buckingham Palace. Basically a typical old fashioned upper class english apartment. Except... I live in Paris!

Who says it can't look like a room from a royal residence just because it's small?

Nothing too simple but nothing too extravagant either, I dislike modernity other than in the bathroom and kitchen department I would say.

So what say you gentlemen? Any advice?

David, I just fainted when I saw the prices! But thanks for the link!

I guess I will have to start in little bits. The closet bit I suppose one has to build it? Also what is it called when you add those mouldings to the ceiling?

What's the most practical approach to building a small closet which is cupboard sized?

Where can one find quality hangers?

So you need an architect... If you manage to get it in the form of a girlfriend, you could get by without paying!

In a 22 sqm garconniere?! - Vainglory...

For obvious reasons, I suspect there will have to be more East India than Buckingham Palace in the mix.

That's fine. The stuff at Buckingham Palace is too fragile anyway.
