Restaurant recommendations in Venice and Rome

I would like to ask my fellow members for restaurant recommendations in Venice and Rome.

The Venice meal will be in the evening following our wedding. We would like to have a short cocktail reception followed by a dinner highlighting local specialties. No more than 25 guests.

Following the wedding, my new bride and I are surprising our parents with a trip to the Vatican. Any interesting restaurant suggestions in that part of the city?
