Funnily enough, I know people who use sou in English as in "XYZ hasn't got a sou".

And if you drink too much gin you'll be soul as well as seul.

A local store was closing out bottles of Sapphire at silly prices as Sicilians don't drink the stuff. It was delicious on the rocks with a slice of lime.
