I just watched Nighttrain to Munich with Rex Harrison on Youtube. I couldn`t believe my eyes when I saw that all of the original film material showing the Nazis marching into Austria and Czechoslowakia showed my hometown in the Tyrol which had about 10.000 inhabitants at the time of filming (1940); even my office building can be seen  .

One that has, sadly, been over-shadowed by David Lean's colour film - but how could you beat the cast of the earlier version (except that Virginia McKenna was too beautiful for her part).

And another one sadly overshadowed by the Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr remake; Boyer and Dunne are, maybe, more convincing:

I´m running behind with all these movies. Thank you for posting this Boyer/Dunne version. My wife and I enjoyed very much. Lovelier indeed than the one we knew.
And what a display of wardrobe by Charles Boyer!
A perfectly cut DB DJ at 2.55¨
A splendid PoW sport jacket at 10.35¨
An out of this world Donegal jacket with "action" back at 17.02¨
A great trench coat with an unbelievable combination collar at 34.10¨
A magnificent tweed Ulster coat at 38.50¨
A full proof DB flannel suit at 53.30¨
And the list goes on.....
My wife said that Ms. Dunne´s outfits were not bad either.

Below I post the new link to the film, since the one above seems to have been removed from Youtube.

Hector - An uncredible wardrobe indeed - for someone with no visible means of support!

Random Harvest. Watch out for the squeaky gate and the cherry tree and, if you don't know what I mean, then you will find out!

The Mark of Zorro (not the one with Catherine Zeta Jones in black leather); Tyrone Power; Linda Darnell and Basil Rathbone: including one of the best sword duels on film:

Since Nicholas departure from the LL this thread has been dormant. Isn´t there any time left on our weekends for delicious films like this one?

In honor of Halloween:

John Barrymore (The Profile) in Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

I just watched this projected in Irvine Auditorium on Penn's campus, accompanied on the magnificent Curtis organ by Peter Krasinski. It's quite a film, and with the dazzling palette of that organ, quite the multimedia experience. The recorded organ track on the YouTube version is a pale shadow . . . .

Someone must have mentioned this film before... My girlfriend took me to the Royal Albert Hall on new year's eve for The Artist - I really enjoyed it! Of course venue, live music (LSO and the composer himself at the piano), glass of prosecco and dressed-up ladies might have biased my opinion :D
