Two years ago, when the world was young, we spent New Year's Eve in Seville, Spain. What an evening that was! All the more poignant now, of course, given that which we had no idea was coming. The dinner jacket I wore that night was my midnight blue London Lounge mohair. Fast forward to New Year's Eve 2021 and we are feeling confident enough to travel to Scotland to celebrate Hogmanay. And my dinner jacket is made up from the new, black, London Lounge mohair (just now in the finishing stages). Although I will take and wear on the trip the black trousers that match the jacket, I have also commissioned a pair of formal trousers made up in a Holland and Sherry tartan, essentially a burgundy black watch pattern:

Which will nicely satisfy the venue's dress code of black tie or a touch of tartan. The other dinner jacket I'll bring on this trip will be a gold velvet jacket, also from H&S.
Anyone else doing anything special or celebratory for this New Year's Eve?

Just love tartan dinner wear.!
And I really appreciate how you wear dinner wear to celebrate each and every special moment.
I’ve set aside a length (H&S as well too) for a Smoking Jacket in a very similar tartan too many years ago. I guess it’s time to have that smoking jacket made up,

I want to just open a bottle of champagne and chill, at home, relaxed, in my ridiculous Sulka peacock brocade smoking jacket.
